Here’s Tule, breaking every ordinance against being too cute to be believed. I guess it wasn’t enough to be ON a bed, he wanted to be UNDER one, too. 🙂 He and Mowgli, his partner in crime, hauled the dog bed up the pet steps and then Tule crawled beneath it. Fortunately, I was able to get out of my audiobook and game of Word Solitaire to snap this photo. He’s probably wondering what the big deal is. 🙂
My alternate title for this blog entry was, HAPPY NEW BOOK DAY. As you might recall from last week, this is one of the reasons I love Tuesdays. I recently discovered the Rose Gardner mysteries, written by Denise Grover Swank, and I’m really hooked, but that didn’t stop me from choosing new audiobooks this morning. I downloaded: INK AND BONE, by Lisa Unger. I like her dark, spooky suspense novels a lot, FLIGHT PATTERNS, by Karen White, another favorite author, and three nonfiction books: BUT WHAT IF WE’RE WRONG? by Chuck Klosterman, THE INEVITABLE, by Kevin Kelly, and MAGIC AND LOSS by Virginia Heffernan. All had fascinating blurbs and, surprise, surprise, they are optimistic about our shared future. That’s going to be a nice change from the usual We’re-All-Gonna-Die! scenarios. It’s about time somebody wrote about the bright side of things, in my humble opinion.
Finally, contest news. Barbara, one of last week’s winners, very kindly replied to Jen’s email to say she already owns ONCE A RANCHER and would like us to draw another winner. Audrey Tollefsen was chosen at random. Thank you, Barbara, for your generosity.
