Pajama Blog

This bronchitis seems like a two-steps-forward, one-step-back kind of deal.  I start out with all this ambition, and then suddenly hit the wall and have to lie down and rest.  It’s crazy.  I have  appearances scheduled at two Spokane-area libraries this weekend, and I’ll be there for sure.  No matter what.  Last year I had to cancel the same gig, because Sadie-beagle passed away that very day, and we had just lost a very dear human friend as well.  The August before that, I broke my right wrist.  I guess this year’s August story will be the bronchitis.  Maybe in 2013, we could just go straight from July to September.
Mostly, I’ve been sleeping, and that doesn’t make for a very interesting blog unless you count the weird dreams.  🙂
Skye, my Appaloosa mare, has been having foot trouble, and has to stay in her stall for a couple of weeks.  The Canadian Wrangler, the vet and the horse-shoer, who is practically a vet himself, he’s so knowledgable, have the situation under control–Skye-pie has “boots” on both front legs.  Her main problem is that she’s a little piggie and likes to eat everybody else’s food along with her own.  She stands with her head sticking out of the outer stall door and whinnies like crazy, wanting to be let out.  A close eye has to be kept on her, because she’s the original escape artist–her nickname is Houdini.  🙂
I’ve managed a few artist trading cards, but even that proves taxing pretty quickly.
Here’s the worst thing about being sick: it’s boring.
Here’s the BEST thing: it’s temporary.  🙂
Keep on keeping on and be grateful for all blessings–that’s my plan.
