Happy Birthday, Chyanne Lael!
🙂 This cowgirl is plum wore out, as the old-timers would say.
We’ve got snow aplenty out here in the country, and it’s beautiful. Always good writing weather. And good soup weather, too. I’ve been meaning to unpack my Vitamix and whip up a batch, and I spent a happy hour yesterday ordering seeds from the Burpee catalog. The one from Jackson-Perkins arrived, too, and what a feast for the eyes. I’d need another thirty acres to grow all the flowers I want to grow!
I spoke with my aunt, Arlee Fairbanks, by telephone this morning. Arlee is an accomplished artist and an expert horsewoman–she’s had at least one painting on the cover of “Western Horseman”–and I’m commissioning her to translate a favorite picture of my Dad and me, on his old horse, Peanuts, into a painting. I was probably two, and still a natural blonde, quite at home in the saddle if I do say so myself. I’m posting a link here so you can see her work: www.arleeartist.com. Tell her “Lindy” sent you. 🙂
The dust from Christmas is beginning to settle, but slowly. Between the big rodeo in Vegas and my favorite holiday, December is becoming a marathon. 🙂
I’m loving it.
So, it’s time for a new question–What is one small thing you could do for yourself, or someone else, today, that you’ve been putting off?
