Kathie-Confusion

Thursday, Jan 10

Jen tells me we have some confusion over who actually won the contest. We doubled checked, identified the original winner, and sent her an email.  Sorry about the mix-up–next time, I guess we’ll need more identifying details upfront.  Still working the kinks out of the process, but if you’re not THE Kathie, please don’t worry.  There’s another contest starting–right now.   🙂  ONE winner will receive a signed book and another of my sister Pam’s beautiful bracelets.
What is your all-time favorite book, and why is it so memorable to you?  (Hint: it doesn’t have to be one of mine.)
On to another subject–it seems to be a slow writing week–I get those sometimes.  I will say that I LOVE this book.  (I know, I always say that, and it’s always true!)
Received a delightful package yesterday–the watercolor painting of James Arness, as Matt Dillon, I bought from my friend Buck Taylor, at Cowboy Christmas.  Lo and behold, my friend and publicist, Nancy Berland, had sneaked into the booth and bought me a Miss Kitty portrait to match!  Both are part of a Dad-tribute, very special to me.  Dad, a town marshal, pretty much worked 24/7, but he always managed to get home in time to watch “Gunsmoke” on Saturday nights.
Of course, for those of us who loved TV westerns, Matt Dillon was not just a cowboy-cop, he was an icon, right up there with the Duke.
The seed catalogs are arriving, and I devour them avidly as I do my art magazines.  The names, colors!  Who knew there was a peach colored sunflower???  It’s called Peach Passion (botanicalinterests.com) and I’m going to grow some for sure.  Maybe we ought to push the fence out a ways and make more room.
For today, that’s the news from the Triple L.
