I love Tuesdays. They’re so ordinary. 🙂 Or, at least, this one is. No appointments, no conference calls, no errands to run–I can simply WRITE.
Tuesdays are also the day iTunes posts new recorded books to download–I usually get so many that I have to call my bank and reassure them that, YES, I DID buy ten books at once, thank you very much, and please unfreeze my debit card. 🙂 I’ve been listening to Debbie Macomber’s new book, “Starting Now”, and it’s wonderful. Debbie and I have been friends for so long, and I’ve always had the highest respect for her talent–she’s a plotting genius, for one thing–but whenever I read or listen to a new story, I’m struck, once again, by how beautifully she writes. Once I’ve finished “Starting Now”, I’ll be listening to Susan Wiggs’ new book, “The Apple Orchard.”

The weather here in Spokane is positively lovely; I hear the roar of the riding lawn mower outside as Larry, the Canadian Wrangler, cuts grass. Definitely a summer-sound, and welcome indeed. The daffodils are starting to fade away and, taking Niece Kelly’s advice, I’m just letting the flower part dissolve naturally. The earlier tulips are on their way out, too, but there are new ones about to bloom–next year, I plan to have heaps and heaps of them! The white lilacs are opening beautifully, and the purple ones are right behind them. The roses and peonies (my favorites) are flourishing, and it won’t be long until they’re blooming as well–especially the peonies.
I think I want to be a peony farmer in my next life, and grow acres and acres of them!
Of course, that might be because the heroine of the new book, “Big Sky Secrets”, runs a flower farm. Not only that, but she’s butting heads with one sexy cowboy.
Lucky girl.
