Fresh from my morning quiet time–meditation, prayer, an episode of the Daily Audio Bible, and I’m good to go.
I’m ready to dive right into the book, but I decided to say howdy to all of you first. 🙂 That way, I won’t obsess about neglecting you all day, and you won’t think I’m dead, sick or in jail. 🙂
We’ve had some rain in old Spokaloo lately, but today looks as though it will be at least partially sunny. Like Lonesome George Gobel (How many of you remember him?), I believe that any day when I wake up and don’t feel the sides of a coffin when I reach out, well, now, that’s a good day.
Obviously, I am feeling much, much better–I suppose it’s a combination of prayer, my medications, the bio-identical hormones, which have finally kicked in (it takes six months), and all the many and varied vitamins I take. But prayer is the number one element–change begins with, “Show me the way, Lord”–backed up by the belief that He will. In my experience, God seldom answers WHY questions, but He’s pretty quick to hit the reply button on HOW questions. Examples? How can I feel better–be a better person and a better writer (or secretary, or airline pilot, or ditch digger–you get the idea)–how can I honor You in my life today?
My peonies are about gone–they were glorious this year, although still too few in number to suit me–so yesterday, our trail boss, Cousin Mary Ann, went out and bought me an armload of them, on sale at Rosaur’s–it’s a regular peony festival around here! The potted lilies I received last Easter (in 2012) are now thriving in one of the flowerbeds, thanks to Jeremy–brilliant splashes of yellow and orange. The container garden has been planted, and I’ve even got one tomato–green, of course–but a TOMATO. Yeehaw!! Like peonies, a person can’t have too many tomatoes. 🙂
It’s time for another contest, so here goes. 2 winners will receive a nifty pair of earrings from last year’s Cowboy Christmas in Las Vegas, along with a signed book.
Here’s the subject for comment: Tell us about a kindness someone showed to you, recently or way back, and how it changed you.
Now, back to the book. Landry and Ria are waiting, none too patiently, I expect!
