A great deal has happened, some of it good, some of it not so much.
On the morning of my birthday (June 10), a good friend passed away. Of course we were and are saddened by the loss, but there are is comfort in knowing he is at peace now, no longer suffering and surely reunited with the lost loved ones he missed so much.
We’ve had a lot to contend with recently, but life goes on, of course. (Without soliciting anyone’s opinion on the matter, naturally.)
Once again, the computer ate a few words of the blog. (ERRRRG!) On Friday, Mary Ann and I drove up to Northport, our home town, and on Saturday I attended the high school graduation ceremonies, where I was a speaker. It was fun to remember my own graduation, many (many) moons ago, when I stood on the same stage, at the same podium, and gave the valedictorian’s address. Don’t be too impressed–there were only 13 people in my class. 🙂 Afterward, Mary Ann and I made a quick trip to Canada–Northport is only nine miles from the border–and Mary Ann, who lived up there for a number of years, stocked up on Cheez-whiz and unsliced bread. (Apparently, Canadian Cheez-whiz is different from the American variety.) I bought a few things at Wal-mart and blew 7 of my 49 optional WW points for the week on a Tim Horton’s doughnut, a confection called a Canadian Maple.
Yesterday, Sunday, we returned home. It’s a wonderful place to be, isn’t it?
I have been making good use of the fancy massage chair I bought on eBay. 🙂 Amazing.
