Things are busy around Casa Linda, which is pretty much normal. Mom has another cold, so she’s back with me for a while. For once, she’s letting us fuss over her. (She’s an independent type.:) )The peonies are at the height of their glory and the roses are blooming, too. The tomato plants are going strong–I can already taste those delicious sandwiches. The lettuce is lush and I see a lot of salad in my future. 🙂 (Definitely not a bad thing.)
Yesterday afternoon, since Jeremy was here in case Mom needed anything, I decided to take a quick walk around the pasture. Off I went–forgetting to take my phone, a thing I don’t usually do. I’m thinking writerly thoughts and stepping along, and just as I’ve about made the full circle, I look up and see a MOOSE standing in one of my flowerbeds!
He looked at me.
I looked at him.
Stand-off.
I turned around–very slowly–and headed in the opposite direction. He went on eating my flowers.
All good. 🙂 He didn’t seem particularly interested in yours truly, which was fine by me.
Then there was this morning. I woke up early and turned off the sleep-button on my Activelink bracelet–one of those little devices like a Fitbit that track exercise, etc.–and promptly went back to bed. (Probably because I read until after midnight.) When I got up again, I logged onto my phone app to see where I stood. At zero, naturally. 🙂 Still, I hit the link that predicts when I’ll hit my objective, which is, at the moment, 6 Activity points. And what did I get? Attitude, that’s what. Basically, the prediction was, “At this rate, you’re probably not going to get to goal at all.”
Say what? 🙂
