And now it’s Friday…

Friday, Feb 21

Mercy.  Friday?  Already?  It doesn’t seem possible.
This week’s winners are Cassandra and Dawn Roberts.  Congratulations, both of you.  By now, you’ve received an email from Super-Jen, and as soon as we have your details, your prizes will be on the way.  The new contest will begin on Monday, so be ready to comment.  Prizes: each winner will receive an autographed book (mine, of course).  One will receive a copy of Sherry Muchira’s CD, “All Things New”, and the other, one of my necklaces.
The stones, as I’ve mentioned before, have been dyed to resemble jade, but they’re actually dolomite and, trust me, that’s not a bad thing.  Dolomite has a nice buzz to it; I looked it up in one of my favorite references, THE BOOK OF STONES, by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian, and the news is good.  Keywords for this mineral: centeredness, calm, balance, moderation, and grounding.
Speaking of gemstones, if any of you have had experiences, I’d love to hear about them, and I’m sure your fellow blog-readers would, too.
I am SO close to finishing THE MARRIAGE PACT–looks as though it will be Sunday.  This has been a long and often difficult effort, but it has always been tremendously rewarding.  Go figure.
I’ve managed some reading/listening lately, during frequent rest periods–this cold is, believe it or not, still with me–the book I’m just finishing is called POSITIVITY, and the author is Barbara Frederickson, Phd., and it is wonderful–so, wonderful, in fact, that after we’ve finished our current batch of prizes, I’ll be giving away one copy per week for a full month.
Another book, this one printed, kept me up late last night–Annie Wilder’s fascinating SPIRITS OUT OF TIME, stories about her own paranormal experiences and those of her mostly-Irish family.  I could not put this book down, and I’m already two chapters into another of her books, HOUSE OF SPIRITS AND WHISPERS.  (This seems to be an account of buying, moving into and renovating a very haunted house–I’m not far enough along to say more.)  I just seem to be on a ghost kick these days–funny, considering I’m also very into THE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER, the Parallel Bible–thanks to Hilda and the others who reminded me of this excellent version, and my much-loved Daily Audio Bible.
The DAB crew is in Israel right now, as some of you may know.  They’re posting pictures on the Daily Audio Bible Facebook page and, even videos, if I understand correctly.  I visited the Holy Land myself, some years ago, with my dear friend, Jean Barrington, who is an ordained Lutheran pastor, and a bunch of other Lutherans, too.  🙂  (Born a Presbyterian, I was the renegade in the crowd.)  We visited the Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the Dead Sea, Massada, and many other remarkable places.  Listening to the DAB podcast brings back wonderful memories of an amazing trip.  Soon, I’ll be taking off for Florence, Italy, and I hope to blog and tweet photos the whole time–Jen has promised to post the pictures on my Facebook page, as well.
Here’s wishing you a wonderful, healthy weekend.  Good Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise, I’ll be posting every day next week.  I miss you when we’re out of touch.
