There will be celebration. 🙂 Mom is Hazel Bleecker Lael, and Jerry Lael is my favorite (and only) brother. I love you both.
On to a new topic: Today, after listening to the Daily Audio Bible (.com) as is my habit, the usual prayer call-ins from listeners were replaced with a song–I Used to be a Child, by the incredibly talented singer/songwriter, Sherry Muchira. Some songs change your day–and others change your life. I immediately downloaded the entire album, which is called All Things New, and I know I’ll be listening to this music often. In fact, I was so impressed that I went to Sherry’s website to order CDs. In the near future, I will be offering one CD to some lucky winner per week, here on the blog, for a total of four weeks.
If you’d like to hear the song that blew me away, you can find it on the January 31, 2014 podcast of the Daily Audio Bible. It’s played at the end of the program, after the Scripture and a wonderful commentary; take it from me, the whole podcast is well worth listening to, I was especially BLESSED by Brian’s lovely prayer. If you want your spirits lifted, check this out.
Just saw the Canadian Wrangler, Larry Readman, hiking through our snowy landscape toward the barn, where Coco, Skye, Banjo, Traveler and April are waiting for room service. 🙂 (Thank heaven they don’t have a way to phone in their orders. 🙂 It’s bad enough that Skye can pick locks!) Once they’ve chowed down, Larry will turn them out into their beloved 10-acre pasture for a walk-about. (Or maybe a ‘graze-about’?)
I continue to write, slowly but surely. 🙂 There’s not much more to be said on that point at the moment.
Bernice (my 13 year old Porky-Yorkie) is bugging me, as we speak, to go downstairs and 1) Let her out, 2) Immediately let her back in again, 3) repeat the process. 🙂 She isn’t yapping–her usual MO–instead, she’s simply staring at me, unblinking. Surprising how effective this method is–the late, great Sadie-beagle used to be able to wake me out of a sound sleep in the same way.
I know, I know–I shouldn’t be obeying the dog, she should obey me. Ha! In an ideal world, maybe. 🙂
Hang on a second–I’ll be right back.
As promised, here I am. It’s a good thing I went downstairs, really, because Jenni (who was sick with a cold yesterday and is still a bit peaky), arrived and reminded me to announce THIS WEEK’S contest winners. They are: Barbara Arvanites and Patrice. CONGRATULATIONS, ladies–you will be receiving an email from Jen today, and once we have your snail mail addresses, your signed books and surprises (each of you will receive a pair of Western style earrings from Cowboy Christmas, but don’t tell anybody!)
Next week’s prizes: 2 lucky winners will receive an autographed book and a small selection of stones, specially selected by yours truly. As always, all you have to do is comment.
I’m off–miles to go before I sleep–may the Lord bless and keep you until we meet again–and even after that.
Have a great weekend.
