Winter is in full swing here on the Triple L–we haven’t had a LOT of snow, but it’s pretty steady. Thank heaven for the Canadian Wrangler, the tractor, and the plow blade. 🙂
It was a quiet weekend, except for a brief and fruitless visit to the casino. Oh, well, I enjoy it, anyway.
I’ve listened to two full books in the past several days–“The Art of Hearing Heartbeats” and “What Happened to My Sister?” Both are excellent.
On the topic of favorite books–I have a number of faves, as you probably do. I loved “Gone With the Wind”, of course, and “Girl of the Limberlost”. I couldn’t get enough Nancy Drew stories at one point, and I will never forget Ana Seton’s classic, “Katherine” or any of Jude Deveraux’s historical romances. Then there was “Jane Eyre”–the suspense!–and “Anne of Green Gables”–all the Little House books, too. I could go on and on.
I continue to follow my Food Lovers program–though not perfectly–and I’m on Day 16. As I’ve said before, I can already notice changes, but they’re mostly not noticable to others. Yet. 🙂 How not perfect? Well, I’m not doing the exercise part of it, as I have problems with my feet, but I’ve got a solution in the works, going back to basics. I ordered an exercise bike on Amazon–is there ANYTHING that isn’t sold on Amazon? Otherwise, I’m golden–drinking all the water, skipping my glass of wine, eating every few hours. Stay tuned. 🙂
I did some art work over the weekend, too–mostly artist trading cards (ATCs)–and got a batch sent off for a swap I’m in. That’s always satisfying, to complete even such a small project–makes it easier to keep slogging along with the big ones. I’ve discovered poster paint, thanks to a Pam Carriker video, (she’s one of my favorite artists), and am having a ball using it on cards and journal pages. Discoveries, discoveries! That’s one of the reasons I love mixed media, along with the colors, which just blow me right out of the water sometimes. Magenta? I could EAT it, it’s so gorgeous! Turquoise? Be still, my beating heart.
Colors. Yet another of God’s staggering gifts. They are countless.
I’ll be here tomorrow–in the meantime, stay warm, stay safe, and be kind. Make a difference, however small it might seem to you–it might mean the world to another person, or to a critter.
