Here I am, alive and well, in Spokane, Washington. 🙂
What have I been doing? Well, writing, mostly. I’m in the revision stage of “Once a Rancher”, and I’m hard at it, which doesn’t leave me much time–or energy–for anything else. In case I sound as though I’m complaining, I’m definitely not–I love this book and these characters, and I certainly hope you will, too.

We’ve had something of a heatwave here in the Northwest for the last week or ten days–the grass is dry and the well is low, and I, for one, am praying for a good rain. Today is overcast, and I felt a few drops land on me when I was out for a brief walk, but it’s still pretty hot, and the forecast isn’t all that encouraging. Alas.
I worked yesterday, and the temp was up in the low 100s somewhere. Bernice, the Yorkie, insisted on our usual walk to the barn and back and I caved. She was overheated, however, so I should have used better judgment. Fortunately, I’d just read about using cold washcloths to cool down a panting pet, and the trick worked. Bernice looked mighty cute, with a red washcloth draped across her little back, like Superman’s cape, and she was back to normal in no time at all. Lesson learned. I’m supposed to be in charge around here–not the dog. 🙂
I haven’t had much time to read, and I’m feelin’ it.
