Better late than later still….

Monday, Aug 12

The reunion was a great success–we gathered at the Holiday Inn Express/Raptor Reef in Hayden, Idaho, and although I avoided the waterslides and bumper cars, it was wonderful to see the kids and braver members of the clan having so much fun.  It’s safe to say that a good time was had by all.  We spent several happy hours perusing a box of old pictures my brother brought, laughing and remembering.
On the way home, I stopped off at a Target in Coeur d’Alene–Target is one of my favorite places to shop–and left with fancy little casserole dishes (ramkins, I think they’re called in the chic-chic circles), along with other probably unnecessary items.  These are for my Martha Stewart Mac and Cheese–Martha makes individual servings and if it’s good enough for Martha, it’s good enough for me.  This time, I’m not sticking so close to the recipe, because I’ve got the concept: lots of different cheeses, that’s the ticket.  I’ve got this!
Sister Sally, her husband Jim and their grandson spent the night here, and the funny thing is, I didn’t know they were here until Jim walked into the kitchen looking for coffee!  I’d left a door open for them and would have sworn they never arrived, since I didn’t hear them come in.  🙂  My 13  year old Yorkie and I hear about equally well, it would seem. 🙂
I’m tuckered out today, but I’ll be back in my office tomorrow, delving into the new book.  Have I mentioned that I LOVE this book?  🙂
I think it’s time for a nap.
Until tomorrow.  The blog, not the nap.
