My daughter Wendy was still in high school when we made our first trip to London, so it was long ago. (Watching British mysteries on YouTube, I’ve noticed that the beautiful red buses and black taxis have changed, and that makes me want to return to see what else is different—and what isn’t.)
The first morning, I woke up and decided to go for a walk.
We were staying at the Park Lane Hotel, and Wendy was suffering from jet-lag, so she stayed in bed. It was a sunny day, and never having been to London, I strolled along, trying to take in the magnificence of my surroundings.
Imagine my delight when I reached the end of the street and turned to see Buckingham Palace, in all its glory. The sight took my breath away.
Later, I lived in London for several years, traveling back and forth from the states every few months, so I definitely have more stories to tell.
