I’m enjoying my weekend–I went to Hobby Lobby and Target today, two of my favorite stores. Before that, Bernicie (the Yorkie) and I took our customary drive, making a wide sweep around the neighborhood before picking up yesterday’s mail–also known as ‘the daily rock shipment.’ 🙂 Bernicie sits on my lap the whole time, eagerly studying the passing scenery. I talk nonsense to her practically the whole way–though of course I do the same thing at home. 🙂 She usually looks at me curiously and perks up her ears, and I’d love to know what’s going on in that feisty little brain of hers. I’m sure she doesn’t think in words, but I also know that she understands some of them, like “car” and “ride” and “bedtime”. Mostly, it’s our tone of voice our animals respond to, methinks, and the energy we project.
As I write this evening blog, I’m sipping my second cup of herbal tea–Mandarin Orange Spice, by Celestial Seasonings. It is delicious stuff. I’m also listening to Mary Higgins Clark’s new book, I’VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN. I was pleasantly surprised to find it on offer on iTunes, since Ms. Clark’s novels have always come out in December, if I recall correctly.
Of course it’s possible that I don’t recall correctly. 🙂 I am, as I’ve said before, often absent-minded. I’ll go downstairs to the craft area, then stand there wondering what I wanted. I usually don’t remember until I’m back where I started, which means I have to make a a second trip. The same applies if I head upstairs, only in reverse. Sigh.
